About

Paula Guntaur is a User Experience Researcher who thrives in roles where she can direct and execute research, inform designs and shape product decisions. She has 10+ years of experience designing and testing new platforms and 7+ years of experience leading teams.

Paula is currently the Design Research Director at Scholastic. She interviews teachers and parents to better understand their needs around children and education. She crafts research activities such as surveys, proof of concepts and usability studies to help shape future strategies and validate that Scholastic is building the right experiences for their users.

Previously, Paula worked at FiftyThree making products for mobile creation such as Paper for iPad and iPhone. Paula was also an Associate Creative Director at R/GA where she led interaction design for the Nike accounts. She was awarded a Webby for her work on the NIKEiD Mobile Builder. Paula also worked at Microsoft crafting new platform experiences including KIN, Windows Phone 7 Services and Office.

Paula has a Master's of Interaction Design from the UmeƄ Institute of Design in Sweden. She also has a Bachelor of Environment Design from the University of Montreal in Quebec and a degree in Industrial Design from Dawson College. In her spare time, she is drawing patterns, practicing calligraphy and tasting her way through the great restaurants of the world.
